What Happened
On the morning of August 26, an ice-and-rock avalanche came off a glacier in the high Himalaya and dammed the Lhende Khola. When that dam gave way, the water came down all at once. It tore through Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading — taking out 32 bridges, roughly 25 miles of road, and the border crossing at Rasuwagadhi. In one settlement, 250 households that had only just rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake were swept away completely.
As of August 31, more than 900 people are confirmed dead, over 1,300 are still missing, and more than 10,000 households have no shelter. Whole valleys are cut off, which means aid has to come from people who are already there.
Why We're Asking
Nepal is not an abstraction to us. It is where our singing bowls come from. The workshops we buy from have become, over many years, something closer to a family of factories than a supply chain — the same metalworkers, the same families, the same craft passed down through generations.
Those workshops have people on the ground in the affected districts right now. When we asked how we could help, the answer was simple: send money, and they would put it directly into the hands of families who need it.
Where Your Money Goes
Our partners are directing every donation toward three things:
- Food — for families who lost their homes, their stores of grain, and their fields in a single morning.
- Shelter — tarpaulins, materials and rebuilding help for households living in the open as the monsoon continues.
- Education — school fees, uniforms and supplies for children whose school year was cut short, so that a disaster doesn't quietly become the end of their schooling.

We cover the credit card processing fees ourselves. Nothing is deducted for overhead, nothing is held back for administration, and no international organization takes a cut on the way. Every dollar you give here is a dollar that arrives.
