In many lunar traditions, its placement in Gemini layers in themes of communication, duality, and integration, often read as a moment for bringing together opposing thoughts or finishing unspoken conversations before stepping into a new year. On one side, a circular medallion contains the stylized round Shou character, the traditional Chinese symbol of longevity, composed of four geometric forms arranged around a central cross, a motif found throughout Asian decorative arts as a wish for long life and continuity. On the opposite side, a flowing line of Sanskrit script renders the Om Mani Padme Hum mantra, the six-syllable mantra of compassion associated with Avalokiteshvara, one of the most widely recited mantras across the Himalayan Buddhist world.
